What I am Playing June 27th

Banished-Review-PC-428592-2

Each week on Friday I like to give you a rundown of the games that I will be playing this weekend or have been playing this week. Hopefully you will hear some titles that you haven’t heard of yet and may find a game that you otherwise wouldn’t have. I also love hearing what everyone else is playing so that I in return can possibly find a game that I wouldn’t have heard of. With that said here is what I am currently playing.

MLB the Show 14:

Every year the most recent entry in MLB the Show ends up being the one game that I play more than any othe. Although I have yet to learn how to bat consistently I am getting better thanks to some guides I read online. I am also working on plowing through a complete season for the first time, all 162 games. Not only am I playing every game but I also have been recording every game and will be editing and throwing up game highlights of every game I play.

Currently there are already six game highlight videos posted, but I just finished playing game 51 last night… so I am a little behind. Over the next few weeks expect to see an influx of video highlights of the Detroit Tigers thanks to MLB the Show 14.

Banished:

I picked up Banished thanks to the Steam Summer sale this week and then quickly played for almost eight hours straight. The game is beautifully made, gorgeous graphics and addicting gameplay make for a very dangerous combination to any gamers free time.

Although I failed in keeping my town alive the first two times I am currently on town 3 and Brittonia is thriving. This weekend I will more than likely jump back into Banished and continue to grow my town, but I am scared that I will start to lose hours of time to it.

WildStar Online

Over the last year I went through multiple cycles about WildStar. At first I was super excited, but as more and more was revealed I lost a lot of interest. Then at PAX East I got to play a beta for the game and was unimpressed. I had written the game off and had no plans of purchasing the MMO, but then I started to read some of the reviews and reviews in progress once the game released. It sounded like something that was right up my alley and boy was I right.

I have yet to find the best combination for my playing style, but I just created a spell slinger and I am more than excited to hop back in to Nexus and start to level up Taterade.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft

Just like every other Blizzard game Hearthstone has its claws back into me. I finally caved and bought some packs of cards with actual money and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks to three legendaries in seven packs and multiple epics I finally feel like I am actually good at the game, and no I don’t care that I bought them with money it still feels fantastic to win.

The thing that I love the most about Hearthstone is that matches usually never last more than 5-10 minutes. It’s perfect for when I am waiting to do something else or only have a short period of time. I am sure I will be jumping into Hearstone in order to complete my daily quest and get gold so I can buy new packs or if I can control myself save up for the expansion, Curse of Naxxramas.

So what are you playing? Do any of these games sound interesting to you? What should I be playing that I am not? Let me know in the comments below.
