There really is no better time of the year for gaming than these next few months. With the temperatures dropping and life seeming to just slow down in general, this is the time of year gamers are looking forward to.
Life is so hectic and as you grow older it seems to leave less and less time for gaming. With work, friends and other activities, gaming seems to find itself in the backseat during the summer months, but from November to December gaming is the top dog.
Don’t get me wrong, I love being outside, hanging with friends and taking trips but I also love gaming and for these two months gaming get to sit in the driver seat, and I love it.
In these months the weather gets colder and as we grow closer to the holidays, life seems to get less hectic. Work isn’t as daunting, school isn’t as stressful (after exam week that is) and you find yourself with more and more free time.
The week of Thanksgiving and Christmas are prime gaming times for me. Friends seem to be busy hanging with families, as they should be, the weather outside is frightful (see what I did there?) and I am on vacation. It’s the perfect time to binge game, which is exactly what I do.
I find that when I have a full week of gaming ahead of me I am more willing to pick up that game I hadn’t played because it required more of my attention, and during this time I usually rekindle friendships that had blossomed from online gaming since I have all this free gaming time.
I love these months, it reminds me of my middle school, high school and even college days, when I had the free time to sit my gorgeous butt on the couch and binge game.
To top it all off over the next few months some top tier games always seem to be released. Whether it’s the new annual Call of Duty or the two games I am super excited about: World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor and Dragon Age Inquisition, there is a triple A title that is sure to grab your attention and just beg for you to sink your free time into it, and why wouldn’t you?
There is nothing better than to sit on your couch with a new game or a game from your backlog on a cold winter day, when snow is on the ground, you’re inside your warm house and you know that you have nowhere to be and nothing to do. Thinking about it just makes me giddy.
Yes I love seeing my family over the holiday, and enjoy Thanksgiving meal as well as Christmas day. Just luckily for me I am an avid gamer and these next few months come with this amazing added bonus of additional gaming time. Just another reason why it’s great to be a gamer!
